If when you were younger, you loved watching five fighters in five different brightly colored outfits, this should be a fun day for you. There’s also a new MTV movie that could actually be really good and a Netflix show about chimps.

BRAD’S PICK:
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always [Netflix]
I’m not technically a ’90s kid, but every person I knew who was in junior high or younger in that decade is excited for the return of the MMPRs–a new hourlong special on Netflix. Hard to believe it’s been 30 years–but it will be fun to see the cast back.
JASON’S PICK:
Pretty Stoned [MTV, 8p]
This new MTV film looks like it COULD be a cross between Half Baked and Girls Trip–both are good-to-great movies, so if they can achieve anywhere near the level of those films, this could be good. That it is an MTV movie could be a mark against it, but then the whole MTV style also stems from one of the greatest movies of all time IMO: A Hard Day’s Night.
BUT, WAIT, THERE’S MORE:

- Maharasha Ali narrates the exciting Netflix nature doc Chimp Empire. We’re always there for watching primates interact, but we have one question: why isn’t it “Chimpire”?
- It’s almost Earth Day, so it’s no surprise that there’s more than one nature documentary dropping on streaming. The latest season of Changing Planet hits PBS tonight.
- What’s not to love about food trucks. In fact, we modern civilization-ers are such big fans there are multiple shows about them. The latest debuting one on Food Network is the rather straightforwardly titled Food Truck Prize Fight.
- A high school football coach grabs for glory in the Hulu sports doc Algiers, America: The Relentless Pursuit. It tells the story of a predominantly African American magnet high school in Louisiana where coach Brice Brown has led the football program to a five-year run of state championships.
