Weekend Box Office July 20, 2018

Movies! Here are some ideas if you can’t get in to a sold out screening of Sorry to Bother You.

Pin Cushion is a “dark family drama” about a mother and daughter, outsiders in polite society, who struggle to adapt when they move to a new town.

Unfriended: Dark Web

The Equalizer 2 stars Denzel Washington as a retired CIA agent out for revenge. Yes, this is a sequel to the 2014 film The Equalizer.

Far From The Tree is a documentary about families and “celebrating life’s differences.” The theater for this one is going to be filled with old people.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is the sequel to the 2008 film Mama Mia! (based on the 1999 jukebox musical). The original cast (Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård) returns, and this time we have flashbacks to Donna’s life before she was a mother. (And died! Meryl Streep’s Donna is DEAD.)

McQueen is a documentary about fashion designer Alexander McQueen.

Today on Netflix:

Amazing Interiors

Dark Tourist

Duck Duck Goose

Father of the Year: “When a drunken debate between two recent college graduates about whose father would win in a fight is taken seriously by their idiot dads, jobs are lost, relationships ruined, futures destroyed…” The fathers are played by David Spade and Nat Faxon.

Jimmy: The True Story of a True Idiot (This is all I could find, apologies to our esteemed audience.)

Last Chance U: EMCC & Life After and Last Chance U: INDY: Part 1

Luna Petunia: Return to Amazia, season two

Iliza Shlesinger: Elder Millennial

Documentary Ballet Now is out today on Hulu:

Trailers for The Warning and Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh were not available at press time.

And Castle Rock on Hulu begins July 25.
