It’s taken months, but we’re almost down to sixteen sweet classic TV comedies in this Battle Royale for the hearts and minds of a dedicated few. In the second half of our Tubular 32, we’ve got the definitive groundbreaking Norman Lear classic, the sketch show … Continue reading Let’s Finish That Sweet Sixteen: Here’s the Final Eight Matchups of the Comedy TV Tubular 32
The Winners Section G #1 All in the Family vs. #9 The Last Man on Earth As much as we love Will Forte’s unusual (and oddly heartfelt) apocalypse comedy, this one is kind of a no-brainer as Norman Lear’s masterpiece was revolutionary when it debuted … Continue reading The Last of the Scrumtrulescent Become Totally Tubular: The Latest Winners From Comedy “March” Madness Section G&H.
We’ve almost come to the end of our “March Madness” Comedy TV Tournament….’s second round. Oh, no, we have much further to go. #1 The Office [US] vs. #16 The Young Ones This one was over before it began as while the cringe-happy show can be polarizing, it still has had about as much influence over the current TV landscape as any comedy released in the 21st Century. … Continue reading The Grateful Eight of Section H: Our Final Winners Are…

High Maintenance [HBO, 11pm]
The adventures of my fave Brooklyn Pot Dealer are back, now on HBO! This show is funny cause it’s true: the depiction of Brooklyn life is so spot on.
This show had me at Olivia Coleman (Peep Show, Broadchurch) as an evil stepmother. A woman (played by creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge) attempts to make her way through modern British life, as her love, family, and business life are all descending into pure chaos.
Nightmare Next Door [ID, 10p]
Tonight’s episode is titled, “Dear Katherine, It’s Me the Killer.” Pass the popcorn.
ALSO ON TAP TONIGHT:
- We can never have too much post-apocalypse, so in rides Orphan Black writer Tony Elliott and Netflix to our rescue with ARQ.
- Syfy also hears you, and returns Z Nation to the airwaves for a third season, starting tonight, the same night Dark Matter goes, well, dark, with the provocatively titled episode “But First, We Save The Galaxy.”
