BRAD’S PICK:
Saturday Night Live [NBC, 11:30p]
The dean of sketch comedy is back with its first new show of the year and it’s a doozy. Aubrey Plaza hosts and Sam Smith provides the music. Plaza is having quite the moment thanks to the runaway success of The White Lotus. Her time is now. Plus she has a background in comedy and that is yet another plus.

BUT, WAIT, THERE’S MORE (Well, not a lot more…):

• When franchises have spinoffs, they are apparently other franchises. Love & Marriage: DC is the second spinoff of its ilk (first one was in Huntsville) and this one is connected to The Real Housewives of the Potomac. The second season comes out on OWN today.
• It’s the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs and our matches are both on Fox: the upstart Jacksonville Jaguars face the postseason regulars, the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium (GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY!), while the Philadelphia Eagles host the surprising New York Giants.
• For the first time in a while we get to close it out in the L-HV (Lifetime-Hallmark Vortex), where Lifetime brings us the rip’t from the headlines goodness of Bad Behind Bars: Jodi Arias.
