What To Watch: 07/25/2022

A movie shoot miniseries ends as at the same time we get closer to the finish line (maybe) of the Badiverse and find out the ultimate fate of Jimmy/Saul/Gene. Oh, and we’re a day into Shark Week (so a good time to remember Tracy Jordan’s famous advice on how to live life).

BRAD’S PICK:
Irma Vep [HBO, 9p]
The simplex mystery reaches its conclusion. Does Mira fine her way back to herself after being Irma? i hear the phrase “television for adults” thrown around a lot, and It definitely applies to Irma Vep. There’s lots of potato chips, this is a hearty meal.

JASON’S PICK:
Better Call Saul [AMC, 9p]
The mysterious write-up of the 10th episode (three to go?) of the final season of this tremendous Breaking Bad spinoff simply reads “a new player enters the game.” Is it the One Who Knocks? Should we expect to hear the b-word a lot? Is it both of them? Someone completely different. Every episode the tension mounts.

FIONA’S PICK:
The Bachelorette [ABC, 8p]
Last week Rachel and Gabby hosted a pageant to get to know the men and took the winners out for an afterparty. They each had one on ones, Rachel felt a connection with Nate while Gabby decided to send Jordan home after not feeling a spark. Tonight the journey continues for Rachel and Gabby as they get to know the men a little bit better.

BUT, WAIT, THERE’S MORE:

  • That other televised Bear returns to television with his hit show Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge–but with a new twist (hence the title). We just read that Grylls once survived from the fourth highest non-fatal fall without a parachute, so he knows what he’s talking about.
  • If you ever wondered what went on in the ginormous and mysterious island of Greenland, the PBS documentary anthology POV presents Winter’s Yearning.
  • It’s Shark Week. On Nat Geo. Act accordingly.
