There’s not a ton of new stuff, but what’s there is almost all recommended by at least one editor. We’ve got a new true-crime mini-series starring real world Justin Timberlake ex-girlfriend and fictional Mr. Peanut Butter ex-wife Jessica Beal (hopefully there’s no mummies in it). There’s also the latest chapter of a classic anime–one that thankfully they are not going to creatively cast this time–and the return of a dark comedy starring one of our favorite actors. Also BBQ chefs brawl–but more figuratively.

KATHERINE’S PICK:
Candy [Hulu]
Hulu’s true crime drama about a murderous Texas housewife stars Jessica Biel as Candy Montgomery, a woman who murdered her best friend (played by Melanie Lynskey), after engaging in affair with her husband (played by Pablo Schrieber). The “five night event” begins tonight–the series will conclude Friday. It feels like it would pair well with The Sinner and Dirty John: Betty Broderick.
JASON’S PICK:
Breeders [FX, 10p]
Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard return to awkwardly co-parent two rambunctious teenagers–and slowly, pensively sip a lot of coffee–for a third season of the dark FX series.
BRAD’S PICK:
Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Sustainable War [Netflix]
This spin-off is an amazing interesting endeavor. it’s the first season of the Netflix anime series reimagined as a feature length film. The series was pretty polarizing among fans so it’s hard to say how they will take to this condensed version, but it may be a way to get more people on board for season 2.
