After some relatively quiet days, the last Thursday in April is exploding with exciting new programming with stars including Andrew Garfield, Matthew Goode, and many others. And all this opposite the country’s number one sport’s second biggest day of the year.

KATHERINE’S PICK:
Under the Banner of Heaven [Hulu]
Adapted from the 2003 Jon Krakauer book, which examined the origins of the Mormon church, a 1984 murder, and Warren Jeffs’s cultish activity (fuck that guy), this miniseries stars Andrew Garfield as Jeb Pyle as he investigates the murder of Brenda Wright Lafferty. Lafferty is portrayed by Daisy Edgar-Jones.
BRAD’S PICK:
The Offer [Paramount+]
One of the most iconic movie quotes of all time is The Godfather’s “I’m going to make them an offer they can’t refuse.” It’s fitting that the new miniseries based on the making of the movie draws from that phrase. I admit that this story is new to me despite being the stuff of Hollywood legend, so I’m looking forward to learning a lot. also the cast is pretty stellar–Miles Teller, Collin Hanks, Juno Temple and Dan Folger.
JASON’S PICK:
2022 NFL Draft [ESPN/NFL Network, 8p]
Even though my favorite team, the Buffalo Bills, do not pick until late into the night, I must admit I’m about as excited for this years draft as I’ve been for years. For the first time in many years, no one has a clue who the first pick will be, and pundits are expecting one of the wildest, most chaotic first rounds ever. While I miss the time when the draft was a one-day event and an all-day affair, it’s still a fun spectacle for fans of the sport.
