We’ve got the return of the latest incarnation of one of the oldest ripped-from-the-comics superheroes, as well as the newest hero to be from said comics rip’t. Our third rec is the wannabe superhero to Philly school kids and one of our collectively favorite new shows. Look for it to show up on our Best of 2022 list. On that note, here’s the Screen Scholars Best of 2021, if you were interested in checking it out.

FIONA’S PICK:
Naomi [The CW, 9p]
It’s a new day which means it’s time for a new superhero show on The CW. Naomi is a comic book obsessed teen living in the pacific northwest who begins to manifest powers after an unexplained supernatural event takes place in her small town. The executive producer on this one is Ava DuVernay, so it’s definitely worth checking out.
BRAD’S PICK:
Superman & Lois [The CW, 8p]
The show’s first season was better than a lot of fans expected it to be, and now it’s on to the second season. If you can sum up the show in one word it would be family. Tonight, Clark opens up to Lois about his visions… and we are off to the races.
KATHERINE’S PICK:
Abbott Elementary [ABC, 9p]
Janine goes viral on TikTok, which is exactly what I would recommend, but cannot possibly end well.
BUT, WAIT, THERE’S MORE:
