The action’s on HBO Max tonight with a sequel of sorts to a classic documentary, the continued tales of some DC superheroes, not to mention a new reality show and a standup special by the youngest member of one of comedy’s first family.

JASON’S PICK:
Eyes on the Prize: Hallowed Ground [HBO Max]
One of the greatest documentaries on race relations in America, Harry Hampton’s Eyes on the Prize came out when the country was at a crossroads: the Civil Rights movement of the 1950s and ’60s led to great changes in legislation and an emphasis on a Great Society. However, when it came out in the late-1980s we were still in the thrall of Reaganism–which we don’t say often enough pretty much was borne out of a repudiation of those advancements. This documentary looks into the impact of the original documentary, while taking a look at the positives and the negatives of the past 30 years.
BRAD’S PICK:
DC’s Titans [HBO Max]
Last week ended with a doozy! So on this week’s episode the stakes could not be higher. Will the group be able to break Scarecrow’s power over Jason Todd? And what’s up with Sterfire’s hallucinations? Where is Blackfire? Hopefully this week we will have some answers. There is no superhero show like it.
BUT, WAIT, THERE’S MORE:

- The Australian dramedy Five Bedrooms stems from an intriguing premise–five people sitting at a wedding’s “singles” table purchase a house together on a whim. We’re now three seasons into the decision’s fallout and that next group of episodes drops in America on Peacock tonight.
