We’ve got Patton Oswalt and penguins, Lil’ Dicky and anteaters(?), and Russian love. Here’s a What to Watch for a post-Cruel Summer season one universe.

FIONA’S PICK:
Penguin Town [Netflix]
If you enjoy anthropomorphizing animals, this docuseries is for you. This eight part series focuses on a colony of African Penguins enjoying sandy beaches and getting into trouble.
BRAD’S PICK:
Dave [FXX, 10p]
In last year’s season finale, lil Dickey rapped love on The Breakfast Club and won the respect of Charlamagne Tha God. What’s next? Well, I guess we will find out when the second season drops today. The episode is called “International Gamder” so maybe an international tour?
JASON’S PICK:
Silver Skates [Netflix]
Remember the 19th Century novel Hans Brinker & the Silver Skates? It was one of my childhood favorites, anyway, so, I’ll definitely give a chance to this beautifully shot Russian adaptation whose bit of buzz earned a slot at Netflix.
BUT, WAIT, THERE’S MORE:

- A spin-off of sorts from Going For Sold, Two Step Home features the same team of Jon Pierre and Mary Tjon-Joe-Pin helping ease viewers through the home flipping project–both from the renovation and real estate angles. It’s on, where else, HGTV.
- Breegan Jane (of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition) also has a new HGTV show (also streaming on Discovery+). It’s June, weddings on the mind, so the home and/or garden channel offers the brilliantly-if-cynically titled The House My Wedding Bought.
- As Redd Reddington, James Spader continues to welcome you, friends, to the show that never ends, continuing to tick names off that long scroll of baddies. On this week’s The Blacklist, our criminal du jour is someone called Nachalo, but as usual, it’s more about the soap opera aspects on this long-running NBC tentpole.
