The peacock gets +1035 points for returning one of its greatest nights of television, led by the last licks of Michael Schur’s remarkable sitcom about a brokedown afterlife. Let’s get to it.
JASON’S PICK:
The Good Place [NBC, 8:30p]
As the trolley chugs along to its final (and likely non-binary) choice on the fate of humanity, tonight Chidi has to convince a raging judge whose gone Thanos and is on a mission to kill every Janet til she gets her reboot button to maybe NOT kill all of humanity.
KATHERINE’S PICK:
Superstore [NBC, 8p]
Amy struggles with Cloud9’s hierarchy in the wake of the big buyout. (And so like, what’s going to happen to the union?!)
ALSO ON TAP TONIGHT:
- The rest of NBC’s lineup is led by Bradley Whitford’s music teacher turn Perfect Harmony whose episode tonight grabs its title (“Know When To Walk Away”) from a Kenny Rogers classic. NBC’s lineup also includes new episodes of Will & Grace and Law & Order: SVU.
- CBS has its competing good vs. evil program, and Evil looks so CBS, but also boasts a great cast including Mike Colter and Aasif Mandvi, so, shrug. The rest of the CBS Thursday night returns include The Unicorn, Mom, Carol’s Second Act, and Young Sheldon.
- If none of this is dramatic enough, since this is a day with a month and a number, there’s a new Lifetime Movie, and it’s The Babysitter’s Revenge, not to be confused with The Nanny’s Revenge or The Babysitter’s Seduction — both real movies.
