What To Watch: 10/18/2019

We’re gonna do a two vs. two as we split (coincidentally enough along gender lines) between the new Paul Rudd show and a star-studded, NY Times inspired anthology.

JASON’S PICK:
Living With Yourself [Netflix]
Call it Multiplicity careens into Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (with a dash of Little Miss Sunshine since all eight episodes are directed by the team behind that bewitching, if polarizing, movie). And you got the ever affable Paul Rudd in the lead role, so hard to not want to peek into this Netflix series.

KATHERINE’S PICK:
Modern Love [Amazon Prime]
Based on the New York Times column, Prime’s anthology series examines “love in its multitude of forms – including sexual, romantic, familial, platonic, and self love.” Stars include Anne Hathaway, Tina Fey, Dev Patel, Catherine Keener, and Andrew Scott (yes, Fleabag’s hot priest!).

BRAD’S PICK:
Living With Yourself [Netflix]
What would you do if you had a to face a clone of yourself? And what if that clone was a better version of you? No better man to answer that question than Paul Rudd on Netflix’s latest mindbender.

NAVANI’S PICK:
Modern Love [Amazon Prime]
In the latest trend of articles becoming shows enters this anthology. Based on the NYT column of the same title the show casts everyone from Anne Hathaway to Tina Fey to re-enact their love stories. Meet-cutes based in NYC? I live for this kind of thing. Watch on Amazon when it premieres on October 18th.

ALSO ON TAP TONIGHT:

  • Another novel from the master of YA drama, John Green, gets its turn for screen adaptation as Looking For Alaska hits Hulu. Unlike Jesse Pinkman, the Alaska being looked for is not the Last Frontier State, but a high school girl played by Kristine Froseth. Charlie Plummer is the inevitable new student and presumably one of the searchers.
