Still feeling the deluge of new shows, while some greats prepare their final act. Adios, Preacher, it feels like you only just began.
KATHERINE’S PICK:
Bless The Harts [Fox, 8:30p]
Created by the brilliant Emily Spivey, Bless the Hearts premieres during Animation Domination at the center of a Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers sandwich. Featuring voices from Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Jillian Bell, and Mary Steenburgen, the Harts are a Southern family that a poor in wealth but rich in friends.
JASON’S PICK:
Godfather of Harlem [Epix, 10p]
It’s from the minds behind Narcos, which, honestly, I have not yet seen but about which I’ve heard nothing but good things. More importantly, it’s got the compelling topic of 1960s gangs and three of my favorite 50+ actors in Forest Whitaker, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Giancarlo Esposito.
BRAD’S PICK:
Preacher [AMC, 10p]
The series finale airs tonight and it’s going to be a doozy. The series hasn’t pulled a lot of punches with the source material and the apocalypse seems almost assured. It’s up to Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy to save the world. And that is asking a lot from this crew.
