We’re all about learning in our TV recommendations for tonight — from questioning the answers to the building blocks of our culture.
BRAD’S PICK:
The Jim Jeffries Show [Comedy, 10:30p]
That outspoken Aussie-American’s talk show is back tonight. His potent mix of irreverence, anger and heart is a good antidote to the toxic atmosphere in America today.
JASON’S PICK:
Conan Without Borders: Ghana [TBS, 10p]
The latest chapter of “A Conan Abroad” finds the lanky talk show host headed to the continent about which too many people have preconceived notions. It doesn’t hurt that he’s bringing the always-cool Sam Richardson — famously born in Detroit, but with Ghanaian ancestors — along for the trip.
KATHERINE’S PICK:
Country Music [PBS, 8p]
Examining America under the influence of country music through 1953, the series examines the brief life of Hank Williams.
ALSO ON TAP TONIGHT:
- ESPN takes an 11-part look at the history of college football with The American Game, starting tonight and airing the subsequent ten Tuesdays.
- The most talented American of 2019 will be crowned tonight on the America’s Got Talent finale, and will then hopefully become President, because honestly, they could not be any worse. Let’s hear what the baton twirlers have to say.
