In the battle of who could better portray the man who ruined democracy, Roger Ailes, Russell Crowe gets a head start on John Lithgow (the latter will play the late Fox News creator in a movie coming out around Christmas). There’s also a new talk show parody and a Brit thriller.
KATHERINE’S PICK:
The Loudest Voice [Showtime, 10p]
I don’t know if we need a miniseries about Roger Ailes, but this limited series, starring TK, looks good.
JASON’S PICK:
What Just Happened??! [Fox, 9:30p]
I love this kind of thing. Fred Savage hosts a parody of those Chris Hardwick/Andy Cohen fanboy recaps, only in this case the target is a fake program based on a book that never existed. Cool!
BRAD’S PICK:
Euphoria [HBO, 10p]
Shocking, over the top… this show hits like a 2019 version of Kids set in suburbia. The next episode has Jules asking Rue to help her take some nudes for a boy she met online. Fascinating, if unsettling, viewing.
FIONA’S PICK:
The Great Food Truck Race [Food, 9p]
The teams are in Tampa, Florida, tonight competing over Cuban sandwiches for police officers.
ALSO ON TAP TONIGHT:
- The Rook, new on Starz, is based on an actual existent book (Daniel O’Malley’s of the same name) and boasts a cast including Emma Greenwell, Olivia Munn, and James D’Arcy.
