Box Office Weekend: Friday, March 15th, 2019

There’s a new Nancy Drew adaptation! There’s a new season of Queer Eye and Arrested Development too. Let us not make waste time and make haste to the trailers! (Well, not Queer Eye–there wasn’t a trailer at presstime.)

The Hummingbird Project stars Alexander Skarsgård, Jesse Eisenberg, and Salma Hayek. Written and directed by Kim Nguyen, the drama “exposes the ruthless edge of our increasingly digital world.” Sure. Eisenberg and Skarsgård are cousins involved in trading.
Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase IT’S NANCY DREW FOR A NEW GENERATION!!!! Starring Sophia Lillis as an uninspired teen in a small town, with Sam Trammell, Linda Lavin, and Andrea Anders.

The Aftermath is a gross-looking drama. Keira Knightley falls in love with Alexander Skarsgård, who lives in the ruins of his Hamburg mansion with his daughter. I’d cheat on Jason Clarke too. My mom is reading the book, but again, feels gross.

Iceman is a German drama. Set 5,300 years ago, a man is set on revenge when his village is mauraded.

Captive State star Vera Farmiga and John Goodman. The film follows dissidents and survivors after extraterrestrials take over the Chicago.

Wonder Park is an animated adventure about June, an imaginative girl and her amusement park. It looks insufferable, but at least it’s about a girl.

Combat Obscura is “ is a groundbreaking look at the daily life of Marines in a war zone as told by the soldiers themselves.”

Five Feet Apart stars Haley Lu Richardson and Cole Sprouse as two teens in Cystic Fibrosis hospice who fall in love but can’t touch each other due to their illness.

Faith, Hope & Love is written, directed, produced, and stars Robert Krantz. Two “lost souls” find each other in a dance contest. With help from God or whatever.

No Manches Frida 2 is a Spanish-language comedy.

The Mustang is about a convict who finds his own humanity in equine training. Starring Bruce Dern, Connie Britton, Jason Mitchell, Josh Stewart, and Matthias Schoenaerts.

Out of Blue is a sci-fi thriller starring Jacki Weaver, James Caan, Mamie Gummer, Patricia Clarkson, and Toby Jones.
