We’ve achieved Maximum Thursday[TM] with the Shondaland and Schur-mentum[TMx2] in full effect.
A Discovery Of Witches [Sundance]
Never been a fan of witches. In fact, about the only creature fiction I enjoy less is stories about vampires. This has both. It also has a snazzy trailer and Matthew Goode, so I suppose I’ll give it a chance. And now you know it’s out there.
Grey’s Anatomy [ABC, 8p]
We pick up right where we left off at the midseason finale. Seattle has been hit by a massive storm and as people flock to the hospital as place to weather the storm, many of our favorite surgeons are trapped in elevators on their way to life saving surgeries. Are we in for another heart in the elevator moment? Only time will tell.
The Good Place [NBC, 9:30p]
Tonight’s episode is called “Chidi See the Time-Knife.” I’m always down for a Chidi-meltdown. It’s like a balm for the soul.
Gotham [Fox, 8p]
Selena and Bruce search for Jerimiah. Jim tries to make Haven a safe place for Gotham’s refugees, but that doesn’t change the fact that Gotham is a dangerous place to be and it’s going to get worse before it gets better.
ALSO ON TAP TONIGHT:
- Rebecca Romjin joins the cast of Star Trek: Discovery as it attempts to go where no prequel has gone before. CBS All Access.
- We’re always down for a Hitchcock and Scully episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine — in this case, Peralta and Doyle are attempting to close a case the stumbling pair investigated in the ’80s. Don’t forget it’s moved to NBC to be closer to its Schur-buddy The Good Place.
- Is there anything Chrissy Teigen can’t do? (maybe more to the point: is there anything Chrissy Teigen isn’t doing?) We’re pretty much counting on her to save democracy at this point. While our centralized government may be a hopeless cause, she can still join with LL Cool J to keep our supply of celebrities mouthing the words of others’ songs going strong. Lip Sync Battle returns for its fifth season tonight, on Paramount.
- Sam and Dean are still battling monsters halfway through their 14th season. Yes, Virginia, Supernatural is still a thing. It’s on the CW. Now go back to sleep!
