This time of year, even series finales have a Christmas tint — although in a twist of sorts, one show (that’s always been a bit of a maverick) goes all in on one of the other happy holidays. Also, all our recs are either timeless or browns.
BRAD’S PICK:
Timeless [NBC, 8p]
The end of Timeless is upon us. The gang teams up with their future selves and go to the gold rush in a bid to stop Rittenhouse once and for all.
JASON’S PICK:
Murphy Brown [CBS, 9:30p]
It’s been quite the year of returns, and tonight it’s the season finale of the groundbreaking 20th Century show whose central character’s actions did not lead a major pharmaceutical company put out a disclaimer that its product does not cause racism — and it’s a centennial celebration of their iconic fictional watering hole, Phil’s Bar.
KATHERINE’S PICK:
A Charlie Brown Christmas [ABC, 8p]
You can’t have Christmas until Charlie Brown rescues a sad tree and Linus reminds everyone that Jesus is the Reason for the Season.
ALSO ON TAP TONIGHT:
- There’s no shortage of holiday-themed baking shows this year, but only one man is a judge on both sides of the Atlantic and that’s Mr. Handshake himself, Paul Hollywood (and that IS his real name, b tee dubs). The Great American Baking Show airs on ABC with the yuletide edition semi-finals and finals.
- Meanwhile, Jack Donaghy’s attempts to tank MTV remain unsuccessful, in spite of the return of Ex On The Beach. And yes, we did link the Dutch version, because that’s a thing that exists (and please pass us the wine).
