What to Watch: 12/13/2018

A bunch of programs go off the air tonight as we get closer to Christmas — including two different flavors of sci-fi. Meanwhile, the Cloud 9 staff churn gets more and more chaotic.

FIONA’S PICK:
Legacies [The CW, 9p]
Mid-Season Finale! The gang has the necromancer in a cell, but that won’t protect them from his mind tricks. Hope gets trapped in a psychological prison. I hope this means we get a little bit more background on her. Also, I think we get some Landon answers in this episode? But it might just be wishful thinking.

BRAD’S PICK:
Nightflyers [Syfy, 10p]
George R.R. Martin’s side show reaches its conclusion as we finally have all of our questions answered about what happened to the crew of the Nightflyer.

KATHERINE’S PICK:
Superstore [NBC, 8p]
Dinah sucks Jonah into a new scheme after taking stock of her future. Good for her. She’s too cunning to stay at Cloud 9 forever!

  • It’s another day, another music icon documentary on Showtime, as tonight’s offering looks at the life and influence of ultimate punk rock provocateur GG Allin with GG Allin: All In The Family. As the title implies, the filmmakers peek behind the deliberately off-putting late musician through the lens of those who are expected to unconditionally love.
  • In the 1980s, magicians incorporated standup into their acts. The 2010s equivalent would appear to be pranks, and one of the premier practitioners of this pairing is Michael Carbonaro, whose The Carbonaro Effect comes back for the second half of its fourth season on TruTV.
  • The third season of Aussie drama Wanted, chronicling the travails of Lola and Chelsea, hits stateside on Netflix.
