Box Office Weekend: Friday, November 30th, 2018

The Possession of Hannah Grace stars Shay Mitchell as a young woman working at a morgue to “exorcise her own demons.” Which I quote because a woman who DIED during an exorcism is not fully dead. Fun!

Sicilian Ghost Story is an Italian film about a young girl who ventures into the forest to find her classmate. It sounds like their love will endure and save them, but the film (based on a short story by Marco Mancassola) is inspired and dedicated to Giuseppe Di Matteo, who was abducted by the mob and murdered.

Head Full of Honey, a remake of the 2014 German film, finds an old man with Alzheimer’s on a trip with his granddaughter. Good to see that Matt Dillon is still getting work.

Elliot: The Littlest Reindeer is an animated film about a miniature pony hoping to take Blitzen’s vacated spot on Santa’s team.

Anna And The Apocalypse is a zombie high school Christmas musical!

Mirai is an animated film. A four-year-old boy time travels through his family’s garden to meet his mother as a young girl and his grandfather as a young man, preparing him to become an adequate big brother to his future sibling.

If Beale Street Could Talk is director Barry Jenkins’s (Moonlight) latest film. It is based on the 1974 novel by James Baldwin. Fonny is an artist imprisoned for a crime he did not commit. Tish is a young woman enaged to Fonny and expecting his child. The cast includes KiKi Layne, Stephan James, Regina King, Colman Domingo, and Brian Tyree Henry.

DriverX is a thriller about a man who gets into hijinks when he starts driving for a company like Uber.
