On All Hallows Eve’s Eve, we’ve got blue collar costume wars, super hero costume changes, and comics with no costumes at all (we mean metaphorical costumes, but they’re mostly in standard stand-up ware).
JASON’S PICK:
The Degenerates [Netflix]
If you’re a fan of the dark storytelling of This Is Not Happening, you’ll probably appreciate the latest in a line of Netflix stand-up collections. Joey Diaz, Big Jay Oakerson, and Liza Treyger have had some of the most depraved and hilarious tales on that show, save maybe for Jessa Reed’s “meth pee.” They’re half of the line-up that moves the vice-laden action from a strip club to a casino.
KATHERINE’S PICK:
The Conners [ABC, 8p]
Dan and Darlene fight about Mark’s Halloween costume, which has been banned at school. Meanwhile, I wonder: will a Conners Halloween be as good as Roseanne’s?
BRAD’S PICK:
Black Lightning [The CW, 9p]
Black Lightning’s personal life has taken the center stage this season. This episode seems to be no different as Jefferson confronts Anissa about her behavior
ALSO ON TAP TONIGHT:
- We’re not sure if the picture above is part of the episode or the Black-ish cast screwing around as Black Panther characters, but they came correct. The ABC show’s episode synopses promise a Johnson haunted house, so either way, treat, right?
- This week Michael Rapaport makes a return trip as his awkward but amiable savant to The Guest Book which he finds in a new fictional (now beachside) location … the underrated anthology is still on TBS.
