Hero dogs, Archie and Jughead, and the Gang from Philly lead our rec’s tonight.
2018 American Humane Hero Dog Awards [Hallmark, 8p]
I’m not one for Hallmark culture, and inspirational memes don’t thrill me at all (I’m a blast to be around, really!), but throw a dog in there, and I’m in and I’ll be weeping. The eighth annual celebration of these happy scrappy hero pups airs tonight.
Riverdale [The CW, 8p]
I honestly don’t know how any of these characters are still continuing with their lives. This is supposed to be a high school drama? This Archie in juvie secondary storyline is TOO MUCH. And yet, I can’t stop watching.
It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia [FXX, 10p]
We all know the Eagles won the Super Bowl. But how did Charlie react? The last few seasons of It’s Always Sunny have been on point and this week’s episode shouldn’t be any different!
ALSO ON TAP TONIGHT:
- While we shouldn’t expect Whitney Houston’s soaring voice to sing about how long she will love you (spoiler alert: always), Netflix’s unveiling of the British hit mini-series Bodyguard could still be epic. While it has no relation to the 1992 blockbuster film starring the late Houston and Kevin Costner, the drama did break records upon its premiere in the UK and does feature a woman and her protective agent, but in this case she’s a politician and he’s an ex-soldier fighting PTSD.
- Less Logan Paul is always a selling point, no? Well, that’s what we have on YouTube’s original high school dating series Foursome as it starts its fourth season without its network’s biggest and arguably most odious star.
- While American Horror Story: Apocalypse is flirting with a Fireworks Factory Syndrome as it has aired multiple flashback episodes since setting up its wizards vs. warlocks fight for humanity a few weeks ago, but Langdon’s backstory and the Coven/Murder House catch-ups have admittedly been a lot of fun. Tonight, the FX tentpole’s episode is “Traitor” which does not bode well for a certain gay warlock.
- As we roar towards the mid-term elections/democracy reset (two weeks to go), we need all liberal satirical hands on deck, so it’s a good thing there’s a new episode of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee on tonight on FX.
