What to Watch: 10/23/2018

Pete Davidson returns to television for the first time since the last episode of SNL, and we’re presuming that’s why he’s all over the news.

JASON’S PICK:
The Guest Book [TBS, 10p]
This anthology show from the creator of My Name Is Earl and Raising Hope aired a full irreverent season last year to little fanfare. The program’s premise (in case you missed it, like most) revolves around the quirky affairs at a cozy getaway hotel. Each week features a different story with guest stars checking in, while some season-long arcs build between the locals. For its second season, The Guest Book moves the action moves from the woods of the fictional Mount Trace to the ocean breeze of fictional Mabel Beach, as stripper Tickles comes along to open The Bare Feet with a new set of guests, including Pete Davidson tonight as a lonely man seeking love.

BRAD’S PICK:
The Conners [ABC, 8p]
The neighbors list their house on AirBnB, causing Dre to make petty (yet satisfying) calls to the police about minor violations.

KATHERINE’S PICK:
Black-ish [ABC, 9p]
The neighbors list their house on AirBnB, causing Dre to make petty (yet satisfying) calls to the police about minor violations.

  • Adam Sandler continues to fulfill his Netflix requirements, this time with a stand-up special which pokes fun at how “well” his movies have done on Rotten Tomatoes with the title Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh.
  • As its name implies, PBS docu-series Native America looks at the country’s first inhabitants.
  • Finally, two legendary baseball teams meet in the World Series as the Boston Red Sox face the Los Angeles Dodgers. It’s televised on FOX this go-around.
