What to Watch: 10/21/2018

Halloween is in full gear and we’ve got witches and zombies and killer alien spores — including Comic Book Guy’s last words ever (this time it’s not “ooh, I’ve wasted my life.”

The Simpsons [Fox, 8p]
It’s this year’s annual Treehouse of Horror, Vol. XXIX. This year promises a retirement home opened by Mr. Burns (uh, sure?), and “Lisa finally snaps.” Way more interesting than Sideshow Bob finally killing Bart. Lisa is just doing what we’re already feeling, tbh.

Charmed [The CW, 9p]
Oh this show is such a delight. The CW has done a really great job updating the show. It fits right into current day politics without being heavy handed. If only all sexual predators were secretly demons that I could defeat with baking soda.

The Walking Dead [AMC, 9p]
Did Negan get inside Rick’s head? Will the tension between Maggie and Rick subside? And what happened to Justin? If you’ve fallen off the Walking Dead train now may be the time to hop back on.

  • Doctor Who‘s first female Doctor may just be its best incarnation yet, and he’s backed by a trio of companions this go-around on BBC America. Tonight they fo to the front of the bus to protect a great American hero.
  • If you’re not Walking Deaded out, but don’t really feel like hearing people talk about the show you just watched, head to the Travel Channel as The Most Terrifying Places In America heads to Nebraska — which is scary enough already, but they also look into some possible ghosts and possessions.
  • If you prefer once dead words coming to life, tonight’s PBS Masterpiece is an adaptation of Wilkie Collins’ 1859 novel The Woman In White.
