On a day after a shocking political upset, our vote goes, by a 2:1 ratio, for mystery boxes of cooking over the season (and almost series) finale of TV’s most complicated sci-fi show.

BRAD’S PICK:
The Expanse [Syfy, 9p]
Humanity hangs on the balance of quite a few things (it’s true on this show’s third season finale too); however, thankfully, The Expanse will live on for a fourth season as Amazon Prime picked it up.

KATHERINE’S PICK:
MasterChef [Fox, 8p]
Tonight’s special ingredient is… walnuts! I’d be bored already, but to see a bunch of sociopaths break a sweat over a creative use of walnuts, well, that sounds delightful.

FIONA’S PICK:
MasterChef [Fox, 8p]
Last week was nerve wracking as some of the best chefs in the competition were almost defeated by banana cream pie! Team challenges are hard. This week the chefs are faced with another mystery box, everyone gets walnuts. What does one even make from walnuts? I can only think of maple walnut ice cream.

• After a bombing, our hero Monica has to delve into the memories of one of the comatose victims on tonight’s episode of Reverie on NBC.
• We only bring up E!’s cavalcade of all things putrid, Botched, to mention its episode title is “The Boobinati,” which in our [hive] mind is not unrelated to why we have Trump.
• Speaking of elements that divide us, the stateside version of Big Brother returns tonight to CBS, and that’s even more fun because we can also blame that one for Brexit.
