What to Watch: 04/16/2018

Superheroes, supervillains, and heists–both real world and fictional–lead tonight’s action-packed schedule of television. Katherine and Jason clearly have their Monday night types!

Supergirl [The CW, 8p]
Winn’s father died and his mother tries to reconnect, but a copycat Toyman has other plans. Mon-el reveals some info on the world killers.

Good Girls [NBC, 10p]
The women feel a financial squeeze when an FBI investigation puts their career on hold. Come on, FBI! There’s a terminally ill kid who needs the money!

iZombie [The CW, 9p]
Liv’s brain du jour is a playa, so that should be fun. Clive struggles with the complications of his relationship with FBI agent Dale Bozzio. I added that solely to remind that’s one of the reason I get giddy about this show … Dale Bozzio is in charge of finding missing persons. Ok, like Sunday morning, I’m easy.

  • Mariska Hargitay exposes one of real life special victims units true crimes, the preponderance of rape kits which go unexamined. The Law & Order veteran interviews multiple survivors who bravely share their stories for the HBO Documentary I Am Evidence.
  • Continuing with the real-life horror stories, the secrecy surrounding the events that led to the 1981 drowning death of actress Natalie Wood have long led to speculation that Robert Wagner was guilty of murder. Recently, the Hollywood cold case warmed up dramatically as the LAPD named Wagner a “person of interest” this past February. ID is on the scene for documentary Natalie Wood: An American Murder Mystery.
  • Back to fiction that feels so real, on Lifetime’s UnReal, the chickens are exhausted from the many times they have returned home, roosting with glee. It’s no wonder tonight’s chapter would be called “Recurrent.”
