Tonight we’ve got a foreign language heist series featuring some snazzy matching duds, Marvel’s forces of good, a bunch of drunk young adults in a ski lodge, and much more.
JASON’S PICK:
Money Heist [Netflix]
This Spanish thriller about a heist that will potentially yield a ton of money may have a simple name (at least in English), but the story is a bit more complex. An organization plots the largest bank theft in history, but in order to do so, they will need to spend 11 days with a substantial number of hostages. If you watch these things, you know it will probably go at least a bit awry at some point.
BRAD’S PICK:
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. [ABC, 9p]
The S.H.E.I.L.D team has to rescue Caulson even as he teams up with some unlikely partners to save the world. Just another day in the Marvel universe.
KATHERINE’S PICK:
Winter Break: Hunter Mountain [MTV, 8p]
MTV, having learned nothing from that West Virginia show, has apparently sent a bunch of drunk kids to a mountain–they have names like JBrew and Taylar, sheesh!–for our entertainment. Crack a cold one, because one of these dummies is headed to the hospital tonight.
ALSO ON TAP TONIGHT:
- While Hilarity For Charity kind of sounds like a no-frills comedy compilation from the bottom of a dollar store budget bin, it’s actually a star-studded affair assembled by Seth Rogen for a wonderful cause: the search for a cure for Alzheimer’s.
- HBO’s investigative reports from the edge series Vice opens its sixth season with a look at juvenile prisons hosted by Omar Little himself, Michael K. Williams.
- Presumably, someday someone will look into why someone keeps taking family members from that particular-set-of-skills haver Bryan Mills. However, tonight’s Taken deals with biological threats.
