As the eastern part of the U.S. digs out from a snowicaineabombcycloneapalooza, television pushes ever forward, if a bit more quietly on a Friday, and tonight’s offerings include new episodes of reliable series, from quirky romcoms to men in tights, and a ton of new offerings on Netflix, led by a new batch of Seinfeld’s roving interview program and the first eight episodes of an insanely black road comedy.
Crazy Ex Girlfriend [The CW, 8p]
Rebecca has enough clarity to know that everyone’s in a cycle when Paula begins scheming again. My favorite is Scheming Paula.
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee [Netflix]
The tenth series of Jerry Seinfeld’s most java-fueled, gearhead-heaviest comedy interview show features one of the final (if not THE final) appearance of the late Jerry Lewis among other things. The idiosyncratic format can be hit or miss, but at its peak you’ll get comic geniuses off their guard.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. [ABC, 9p]
Daisy’s life may be in danger, but a friend will attempt a rescue on the always reliable Marvel superhero tentpole.
ALSO ON TAP TONIGHT:
- The critically lauded British series The End of the F***ing World, based on a Charles Forsman graphic novel, crosses the Atlantic with its dark self. It tells the tale of a cross-country car journey of two teens; of course, one of whom harbors a dangerous secret.
