Weekend Box Office: July 22, 2016

So how did Ghostbusters do?! The lively, inspiring, hilarious comedy was No. 2, pulling in $46 million. The Secret Life of Pets eked out $4 million more, taking the coveted spot.

Star Trek Beyond is your big blockbuster this weekend, and is poised to dominate the box office. The third installment in this rebooted series, and the Enterprise continues to explore space and face foes, including Idris Elba’s Krall.

Don’t Think Twice is a comedy from Mike Birbiglia starring Keegan-Michael Key, Gillian Jacobs, Chris Gethard, and Kate Micucci as members of a NY improv group waiting for its big break.

Madaari is about a man seeking answers and revenge after his family is killed in a “man-made disaster.” It stars Irrfan Khan.

Ice Age: Collision Course is the fifth film in the Ice Age franchise. Scrat accidentally sets off a series of cataclysmic events when his pursuit of That Acorn improbably sent him into space.

Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie should be your big box office film this weekend, as it is the film for the cult favorite British comedy, Absolutely Fabulous. Look out, Darling!

Train To Busan is a zombie thriller. When a zombie outbreak occurs in South Korea, a train filled with not-yet-infected passengers, struggles to survive.

Lights Out is an American horror film, with a trailer that’s been scaring me all summer, so I’m glad it’s finally out. A ghostly woman is haunting the members of a perfectly innocent family, and it’s up to one victim to find out why.
