What to Watch: 07/15/2016

Look to the stars (or our site) for more from Navani Otero on our clear top pick of the night in a few hours, but here’s what we got on a relatively quiet July night.

NAVANI’S PICK:
East Los High [Hulu]
Our favorite skonkas and chulos are back for season 4 of the groundbreaking teen show I personally describe as Mean Girls and Step Up having a Latin baby. Seriously, where has this show been all my life? Things are heating up between Jacob and Ceci except someone forgot to tell Maya, who makes a surprise visit to the taqueria. This is going tot be awkward!

JASON’S PICK:
Secrets of The Force Awakens: A Cinematic Journey [ABC, 8p]
Not that there’s a lack of Star Wars material, even eight months later, but it’s still fun to see all that goes into a grand piece of moviemaking like the return to form of the Star Wars series.

KATHERINE’S PICK:
The Snake Pit [TCM, 8p]
This 1948 Best Picture nominee stars Olivia de Havilland as a schizophrenic woman desperate to get out of an abusive mental health hospital with the help of her kind doctor.

ALSO ON TAP TONIGHT:

  • It’s the end of the world as we know it, and Gravity Falls feels fine, presumably. Should be a funny ride on Disney.
  • The usual solid line-up on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher: tonight’s guests include actor Viggo Mortensen, affable Republican pollster Frank Luntz, and fallen governor (getting back up again) Eliot Spitzer.
  • Ooooh, it’s baguettes and bread sculptures on the kindest reality show around, The Great British Baking Show on PBS.
