What to Watch: 06/11/2016

There’s only one significant scripted series tonight, Starz’ Outlander, but there are some intriguing special deliveries, and two-thirds of us are going for a Hallmark movie that fits the season.

Stop the Wedding [Hallmark, 9p]
The niece of a widow disapproves of the poor woman’s marriage to a freakin’ movie star (Alan Thicke), so she schemes to stop the wedding. Hi, I’m Troy McLure and you may recall me from The Simspsons Did It?

Stop the Wedding [Hallmark, 9p]
Ring in wedding season with this tale based on the book of the same name. When a young single attorney finds out her aunt is about to marry a smooth talking casanova she’ll go to great depths to stop the wedding.

O.J.: Made in America [ABC, 9p]
Following close on the heels of the excellent mini-series American Crime Story, chronicling the stories of the people mucked up in the O.J. murder trial, O.J.: Made in America, part of ESPN’s exemplary 30 For 30 series, digs deeper into the story of O.J. Simpson — from his days setting rushing records at USC and in Buffalo, to his life as a B-list actor, commentator, and spokesman through his sudden fall from grace after murdering his wife and waiter Ronald Goldman (allegedly, but, yeah, he did it), acquittal, and subsequent jailing for memorabilia theft. The reviews are beyond rave.

  • Jesse James, Crazy Horse, and General Custer are the three iconic figures on the first installment of AMC docu-series The American West, executive produced by Robert Redford — who is extensively interviewed in the series.
  • There’s a battle a-brewin’ on Starz’ Outlanderbut many involved know the outcome.
