It’s a Sunday, it’s May, let’s just get started.
Preacher [AMC, 10p]
After years spent in development hell, the live action adaptation of Garth Ennis’ seminal comic book is finally here. Will Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his bad ass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) and their Irish vampire friend Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) find God? We’ll start to find out tonight.
2016 Billboard Music Awards [ABC, 8p]
The question of the night remains is Madonna really going to be the one tapped to perform Prince’s tribute??? Everyone is hoping for a surprise turn of events.
Bob’s Burgers [Fox, 8:30 & 9:30p]
Two episodes sandwich Family Guy tonight (Bob’s is the artisanal sesame seed brioche bun, while the Quahog comedy is a microwaved, processed beef patty, one supposes). First Tina’s ideas of love challenged when she volunteers at a nursing home. Later, in the finale, the kid’s (probably) ruin Bob’s hopes and dreams when a reporter comes to the restaurant.
Silicon Valley [HBO, 10p]
Action Jack is out and in his place…nobody. Laurie reassures the gang — well, no, she really doesn’t at all because that’s not really in her spectral nature. Neurotic panic is Silicon Valley‘s wheelhouse, and this one should have oodles.
ALSO ON TAP TONIGHT:
- Before and after Silicon Valley on HBO, valiance, alliances, and probably more murder is on the menu at Game of Thrones, while Selina Meyer needs to recover from her total breakdown (and even rarer vulnerability) to fight for the presidency now that an Electoral College tie is unavoidable
- On PBS, Call the Midwife bows out of season five with a smidgen of joy amid the constant tragedy
- Fans of one of 2016’s smartest new shows can breathe easily as it has been renewed for two more seasons. This week on The Carmichael Show the clan confronts their porn preferences.
- While Fear the Walking Dead fans will have to do without Chris Hardwick’s speculation due to its newest shiny show, but that doesn’t mean our ever imperiled heroes will have a quiet place as they feel out their new murderous host.
