Thursday’s Best Reviewed: The 100

At this point, if we aren’t watching yet (and I include myself) here, we should probably be catching up on The 100. It wins its night again, as the best reviewed show with an episode with its action-packed third season finale. It edges out the season closing of Shondaland’s grand dame Grey’s Anatomy, as that show wraps up its tumultuous, divorcey twelfth season. The rest of the evening is genuinely polarizing as AV Club really didn’t care for Orphan Black and Archer, while Vulture gave both perfect fives.

Thursday, May 19th’s Best: The 100 (9.3/10)

While The 100 has had its up and downs in a death-riddled season, but its second half has earned many a rave. AV Club‘s Kyle Fowle states it bluntly. “The second half of this season has done some work to bring the show back from the brink, focusing on the City Of Light and issues of freewill and difficult moral choices, bringing some much needed depth to the third season. That work pays of with “Perverse Instantiation: Part Two,” a thrilling, forward-thinking finale that provides some necessary closure to this season.” Eric Goldman at Vulture tired of the show’s murderous appetite and offered the ending/cliffhanger “felt like a relatively more optimistic finale for the show.”

The Rest of the Night:

Grey’s Anatomy – 9.0

Orphan Black – 8.2

Archer – 7.0

The Catch – 7.0

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – 6.9
