Ah, Tuesday, it’s a beautiful day for sitcoms. Oddly enough, the best sitcoms have seemed to gather on this second day of the work week and that’s what we’ve got for you — three of the best (and more beyond).
The Grinder [Fox, 9:30p]
While The Grinder has sought to find itself — almost parallel to the main character’s self reflection, as it happens — it has ever been funny along its road to discovery, and hopefully this adventurous show makes it to a well-deserved second season (although it’s a longshot). Tonight, it’s the classic Stew/Grinder debate — the former wants to settle their dad’s case, but the latter has a “Grinder” trick up his sleeve.
New Girl [FOX, 8p & 9p]
A double dose of our favorite roommates! There are secret wedding workshops to keep hidden and bridal dress alterations to make which will make for all kinds of shenanigans as the big day gets closer.
Fresh Off the Boat [ABC, 8p]
Jessica turns her flipped dream home into a rental, and in those halcyon, pre-AirBnB years, finds out that her tenants (which include John Francis Daley in a drug rug) are nightmares. I feel you, girl.
ALSO ON TAP TONIGHT:
- If we had a fourth pick, it would surely be the Dan Savage-inspired coming-of-age-while-coming-out show The Real O’Neals which has some rough edges, but has mostly featured inspired comedy, and a divine cast which imbues the dysfunctional-as-hell O’Neals with some real chemistry
- Blink and you’ll miss him. The Flash has been earning solid reviews week after week on The CW. This week, Zoom returns.
