What to Watch: 03/18/2016

It’s Friday, Friday, gotta make our minds up: which shows will we watch? Well, we here at The Scholars have decided, so see our three thrillrides below.

Marvel’s Daredevil Season 2 [Netflix]
The second season of this superhero drama has Matt Murdock crossing paths with a new vigilante, Frank Castle AKA The Punisher.

Grimm [NBC, 9p]
Grimm has been a reliable combo of monster movie thrills and international intrigue recently, so adding a storyline about masked wrestlers…uh, yeah! Sorry, but it’s also titled “Silence of the Slams”…what’s not to kinda love?

Selena [VH1, 8P]
I almost hate to recommend a movie on TV for the second night in a row, but it’s Selena, the touching biopic about Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, the Queen of Tejano music, cruelly taken from us before she completed her crossover. (Where is her commemorative postage stamp, anyway?) I always watch Selena when it’s on (Jennifer Lopez’s other movie, that I can never turn off, airs at 8 p.m. on E!), and it’s a better use of our time than Last Man Standing, I promise.

  • Fast lanes. Switching lanes. That’s what they do on Shark Tank, right (I mean ludicrously bad segues). And tonight there’s a beer-based invention. On ABC. Yum!
  • Sleepy Hollow, on FOX (still can’t wrap my head around the fact it’s not on the same network as Grimm), continues deeper into the supernatural abyss, as they do every week. It’s one of our editor’s favorite hatewatch show.
  • Speaking of which, for some reason that reminds us Bill Maher returns to his perch on HBO tonight. Cool guests on Real Talk with Bill Maher include Esperanza Spalding and Barney Frank.
  • Say Yes To The Dress features war veterans and twins. Need I say more? It’s on TLC.
