On a relatively quiet night, we’ve got some definite variety and a lot of spice as Ilana throws a party, Robert ambushes a West Orange, NJ, eatery, and we remember the hot air balloon of a reality of a life that was Big Ang.
Broad City [Comedy Central, 10p]
After a life-changing week of an episode, Abbi and Ilana are back to more usual roles as the latter throws a lavish house party and the former searches for self.
Larger Than Life: A Celebration of Big Ang [VH1, 9p]
Some reality stars are larger than life. R.I.P., Big Ang.
Restaurant Impossible [Food, 9 p]
Robert yells at the owners of a New Jersey restaurant, who haven’t made a profit in over a decade.
ALSO ON TAP TONIGHT:
- Comedian Jerrod Carmichael’s semi-autobiographical family sitcom begins tonight. You may know his voice from Lucas Bros. Moving Company or have seen his stand-up special. He’s charismatic, if the trailer (see link below) looks pretty familiar — although losing ones “ribleges” is pretty funny. The Carmichael Show also stars David Alan Grier, which could really go either way.
- The Voice is at that exciting mid-point where you can jump in if you’d like — the blind auditions are done and the teams are set. This episode chronicles the former and previews the latter. Still on NBC.
- Syfy debuts The Internet Ruined My Life, a docu-series which sounds both intriguing and self-explanatory. They start with #CancelColbert.
- Has anybody out there seen Teachers on TVLand?
